Please help … I’ve reset my configuration to default, now pools, users and everything are gone.
Yes, that’s what happens when you reset your configuration to default. Why did you do that?
The solution is to upload a saved backup of your config file. If you don’t have one, the solution is to reconfigure your server by hand.
Thanks Dan, no I don’t have a saved backup of config. Can i still access data on drives?
Yes, just import the pool(s).
I am not so clued up with Truenas. I’ve created a Truenas system about 2 years ago, and stored al the years work on it. Which option do i choose?
Does the pool have GELI Encryption from FreeNAS/TrueNAS 11.3 or earlier?
No, continue with import
Yes, decrypt the disks
I hope the answer is “no,” because if you encrypted the pool and then reset the configuration to defaults, you’ve just lost all your data. But really, you’re the only one who would know this.
I’m trying to import the pool, but its taking a long time. Hopefully i can recover something
Pool ‘NAS’ has encountered an uncorrectable I/O failure and has been susspended. OMG
Can somebody PLEASE HELP !!!
Demanding help on an instantaneous basis isn’t going to work, and is likely going to result in people ignoring you.
Let’s see if we can figure out what’s going on, though. Go to the shell, and post the complete output of zpool import
and zpool status
.
That all looks normal enough. What problem were you having that led you do try resetting the configuration to defaults? I presume you didn’t just do it for the fun of it.
And I wouldn’t expect a different result from the shell than from the GUI, but what happens if you try zpool import NAS
?
What problem were you having that led you do try resetting the configuration to defaults?
I could not access the files or the interface, so being really stupid, i thought that resetting config would help. After i’ve done that, and still no data, i’ve opened the Truenas PC which i build to find that one of the SATA cables where damaged. I’ve replaced the cable, and can see the drives.
How many drives should there be in this raidz1? Was there a SLOG/L2ARC/special vdev?
After receiving that error, try zpool import
again and post the status. Because it’s sounding like there’s a device missing, but the initial output of that command didn’t show that to be the case.
