Rename dataset via SMB or GUI

Should’ve taken a couple screenshots, but hopefully i can describe what i need.
Latest version of truenas core
Datasets :
Root
. . .Dataset parent
. . . . . . . Dataset: photo
. . . . . . . Dataset: video
. . . . . . . Dataset: reserved
. . . . . . . Dataset: reserved2

I’ve shared and connected to the “Parent” dataset via SMB, so each of the child data sets (photo, video, reserved, and reserved 2) shows up as folders in the windows mapped drive.

Can I rename the “reserved” dataset/folder directly in windows, or would it be better practice to rename it in the Truenas GUI

Edit:
I’ve seen posts of how to do it via command line, but that’s not my question, unless doing it via windows GUI and/or Truenas gui isn’t a good idea.

Jut a search away…

Maybe i’m mis-reading but that’s how to do it via command line, but i’m asking whether i can do it via windows folder rename or via GUI, unless both of those are not good options

Windows knows F.A about ZFS datasets so that won’t work.
Have you found a rename option in the GUI ?
Make a test Dataset and try it out.

Was hoping someone who had done the trial an error has posted or documented it, but if not i’ll give it a shot; thanks

Have you downloaded the current config so you can go back if needed?
Do you have a backup ?

Ahh didn’t realize the dataset name was greyed - out and when i tried via windows it just gave me an error, so i guess that’s why it’s cmd line, the other two methods don’t work
