Replacing Drive of Stripe Pool

Hay,

I have the following Setup:

  • Scale Version 25.04
  • 1x SSD 250GB (OS & Boot-Pool & System Dataset)
  • 1x NVMe 1TB (Stripe Pool, used for Apps)
  • 2X16TB HDDs (Mirror Pool, used as my archive)

I want to replace the 1TB SSD with a 4TB one, which I already installed, but didn’t assign yet anything to.

How should I best proceed to basically clone my existing data to the new drive. In the best case I’d love to just use my TrueNAS after the process exactly like now, only that the Stripe pool now is 4 times bigger and the 1TB SSD would be unused.

Is this possible? Most information I could find was sadly for old Versions of TrueNAS

Same process in any TrueNAS version, and preferred process for all drive replacements even with redundant pools:

Plug in the new drive and “Replace” the old drive in GUI.

Additional step for SCALE/CE: When done, “Extend” the pool from storage dashbord to use the extra space.
