Ok folks, I have decided to stop trying to come up with a solution that may or may not work. When I initially created this pool, I striped the disk and although I was getting block errors on ada8 and I was freaking out, ada8 has been quiet and ada9 have been wiped twice. Trying to figure out how to add in my SATA disk and try to make it mirrored is infanity. I may be able to get it to work but since I have enough space, I am going to make a new mirrored pool with the Sata disk and just migrate the pool data over and be done. Then I can destroy pool 2 and start all over again and use it for something else.
I will re-frame this tread and take my time and provide documentation as it may help someone else.
