Replication - Naming regex can't be used with Naming schema

When trying to set up replication I get the error " Naming regex can’t be used with Naming schema" but I have the " Matching regular expression " option selected. Am I missing something?

What version of TrueNAS is this?

Dragonfish-24.04.2

Hmm trying to recreate your config as much as possible based on the screenshot, I’m not having any issues creating the task using regex. I’d suggest submitting a bug report so that we can investigate what’s going on here.

Edit: Actually I see what the issue is. It looks like you’re trying to edit an existing replication task to change from a naming schema to regex and when I do that I also get that validation error. I’m guessing it is failing to clear the existing schema before attempting to set the regex.

A workaround for the time being would be just to recreate the task using regex from the beginning rather than trying to edit the existing task.

Edit 2: I don’t seem to be able to reproduce this on a 24.10 nightly, so this may have been resolved already in the next major version

Yes that got it. thanks.
It did only say 1 snapshot in the UI but I have more, but that could be something my side so I will look in to that.

might be user error … but my .* regex is not maching my snapshots.

edit: why is it looking for snapshots in tank2. That is the destination.

okay, my disk was imported and not clean so just wiped it and started over and it is now replicating by the looks of it. One thing i noticed is that creating a single disk dataset isnt that obvious. it would be good to add that as an option in the dataset creation wizard. I use a single dsk in my NAS then replicate this to another machine for backup periodically.
