[RESOLVED] Server unavailable after network interfaces misconfiguration

I have a Truenas Mini from iX systems. This device has 4 1Gb ports. I wanted to to configure a bridge connection between 2 ports, so that I can connect one more device to my network (yes, I know I should buy an unmanaged switch, but I needed it ASAP and could not wait for delivery).
I tested network configuration as UI asked me to do, and everything worked fine. But in 10 minutes I checked again and NAS was not available anymore:

  • cannot open management interface
  • cannot ping
  • managed router does not see any device (old or new)
I tried to connect Truenas with ethernet cable to one of ports nont being used in the bridged connection, no changes.

How can I connect to the device w/o network (do I need keyboard/mouse/display)?
How to change network configuration from cli?

Right answer:

  • Connect the Ethernet cable to the IPMI interface.
  • DHCP is enabled by default, so locate the new device on your network.
  • Open https://[that-ip-address] in your browser (ignore any warnings about an invalid certificate). You should see a web interface
  • Use credentials admin/[password from the back of your device]
  • Start a KVM session.
  • Further steps will become obvious as you see a menu.

And what should I do next? I guess it will not give me access to web UI.

Use the console menu to correctly configure your network interfaces.

Right answer: Use IPMI + KVM

  • Connect the Ethernet cable to the IPMI interface.
  • DHCP is enabled by default, so locate the new device on your network.
  • Open https://[that-ip-address] in your browser (ignore any warnings about an invalid certificate). You should see a web interface
  • Use credentials admin/[password from the back of your device]
  • Start a KVM session.
  • Further steps will become obvious as you see a menu.
