This seems obvious, but I am looking for someone to confirm that any type of datasets inside an encrypted root pool are therefore encrypted by default if they are replicated into it. I currently have both encrypted and unencrypted datasets inside the encrypted root pool as below.
- Root Pool (Encrypted with key)
- Dataset (Unencrypted but inherits encryption from root pool)
- Dataset (Unencrypted but inherits encryption from root pool)
- Dataset (Encrypted with passphrase)
- Dataset (Unencrypted but inherits encryption from root pool)
I am replicating my data into a new encrypted root pool, and I want to make sure that if I RMA the drive there’s nothing to do but pull it and send it.
