Im stumped, built a new server and I’m unable to install SCALE. Safe boot is off, uefi is supported, and tried multiple re-downloads and flashes. I can select install but after that its just a blank screen. Tried HDMI and DP outputs. Running the following:
ASRock B760M RS DDR5
I5-12600K
Crucial DDR5 16x2
All drives show up in BIOS. Any help would be much appreciated!
I get a message that boot has failed repeatedly and then select boot options. Takes me to grub menu with option to install truenas scale. I select it and get infinite powered on but black screen.
May be read this. It could be that your hardware is too new, or it could be the RAM slots used, and maybe have a read here. This thread shows success by using a dedicated gpu for the install. Another issue found during my research is a need to patch certain intel igpus. Hope these help.
Other things to consider. Try disabling secure boot, any non-essential hardware as these may cause issues based on various other posts I have read with this issue.
If it were me, I’d try and get the install to complete with a dedicated gpu of any kind to bypass any igpu issue and then see if you can access the GUI with the dedicated gpu removed.
Turns out it was the dumbest answer. The installer couldn’t deal with my 1440p gaming monitor. I plugged the output into an LG CX TV and it worked just fine. Sigh, now to rebuild my apps.
