I try to interpret this error message when I attempt to create a SMB dataset

TrueNAS server must be joined to Active Directory or have at least one local SMB user before creating an SMB share.

I don’t have a AD at home and only want to create a share for my fellow windows users. How can I effectivly create a SMB share?

Verify that you have at least one account with the box “Samba Authentication” checked in Credentials->Local Users.

as you can’t use root and presumably (I don’t know) your admin user if you have one
