Problem/Justification
(What is the problem you are trying to solve with this feature/improvement or why should it be considered?)
Am using Truenas Scale 25 and i scrolled the whole web to be able to hide SMB if the user has no access to it i then found out that it is set separately on SMB (Share ACL) which is different from file ACL (directories and files)
I get that the option to edit is nice to have but at least add a button to praise visibility directly to the users with permissions only i dont want all users to have 9000 folders they can even access
Impact
(How is this feature going to impact all TrueNAS users? What are the benefits and advantages? Are there disadvantages?)
Benefits: rekove the crowded SMB shares that the user has no access to while retaining the Visibility for the rest of the users
User Story
(Please give a short description on how you envision some user taking advantage of this feature, what are the steps a user will follow to accomplish it)
I transfered accesses from synology to truenas using a script in windows to the files in truenas after i completed the Rsync backup
The accesses worked wonders and was very easy to do but the users had a full visibility to all SMBs yes they cannot access the ones they don’t have access to yet they can see all of the SMBs which adds over head to both us (IT) and the user.
I know this topic was mentioned before and if anyone has a script that can praise file level ACL to Share ACL i would love to have that i have been trying to do that for 12Hours after figuring out this behavior which was very weird.
Please if you have anything that can assist me now i would love the help i have over 80+ SMBs and about 130 users
