Strangely high power draw

Hi,
I have recently upgraded my TrueNAS to hardware I used to have in my desktop. When using the desktop with Fedora Workstation it was idling around 40 W, surfing the web was not much more.
Now with TrueNAS installed it idles around 100 W, which feels wrong.
I have added 3 HDD’s which is ~+15W, I added 32 GB of RAM (2x16, it can be ~+10W).
I have switched from Radeon RX 6700 to RTX 2060 12GB which are pretty much equivalent. But it currently isn’t even used for monitor output. I have plans, but for now, only used when using Jellyfin.

From software side, in trueNAS I have only few apps (8) that are basically on-demand (jellyfin, audiobookshelf,…) and are run “on” nvme.

So I would expect maybe 65 - 70 W when idle, but not 100.
What could it be? How do I troubleshoot?

If i look to usages. Cpu looks like this:

Not sure if it does much. They have powersaving governor. And when I check the cores, they are mostly idling at 550 Hz…
Network is doing nothing, the spinning disks are pretty much idle only harbouring user data.

Any chance for full component list?

If I had to make very rough, worst case guesses from what you listed:
3 HDDs, 20 watts
2x16 dimms, 15 watts
2060, idle, 10-30 watts (do you have a monitor connected? If so, please give details, I know some nvidia cards have an idle issue when monitor is above 60hrtz)
Unpsecified motherboard/chipset/nic, 25 watts
unspecified idle cpu, I have no clue - you could look into bios & set specific wattage caps. I would recommend setting watt ceiling instead of undervolting . Undervolting on a NAS is asking for eventual stability issues.

With completely arbitrary guesses, I’m already at apprx 100 watts. But this is because I’m missing information on your specific hardware, bios settings, what is connected, etc.

I will list them later (not at home currently). But you are overestimating the drives at least, they are for sure 15.
I found out that the graphic actually idles at 16W which is more than I expected as my RX 6700 draws 7-9 Watts when I am using 2k monitor and surf the web (so nothing heavy but still more than idle)…
I tried to slow down fans, but that didn’t do it (~2-3W), but shortly after I started looking at the graphic card the power draw dropped 20 W, so now it idles at 80 W the whole system with the graphic card at 16… So now it adds up actually. But I have no idea what caused it to drop the 20 W…

Yeah - I was making very worst case guesses. I mean, I’m glad it is using less power now at least?

yes, it even dropped another 5, now running at about 75 for two days. I have no idea why, but I am glad. Sorry I was away to answer sooner. Now I guess I do not have to list the hardware
