So today I woke up to my TrueNAS community edition being unresponsive. I plugged in a display and keyboard but there where no output, no even after key presses. Only a hard reset were able to wake the system again.
I am new to the TrueNAS experience so I don´t really know where to start troubleshooting. Which log files to start going through and i would like some pointers.
(This SHOULD not be a memory issue since I just bought new RAM because my old ones were done for)
Please list your full hardware speccs, without it it’s just a guessing game…
You’ve given us the equivalent of “my car doesn’t work, what should i repair”
Did it work for some time and then stop working, maybe around 2-3 days? If yes your cpu seems to be affected by the same issues that 1st and 2nd gen ryzen have and seem to need the specific bios changes.
See if you bios has an option to change power supply idle control from low current idle to typical current idle.
maybe, for 1st and 2nd gen ryzen the lock ups usually happened around 2-3 days (at least for my systems).
It’s worth a try since all that setting does is increase the idle voltage from around 0.4 to 0.9, which should increase stability
