TrueNAS 25.04.0 is Now Available!

No we are pulling it down, apologies for the confusion.

For those folks trying to grab the update, I would wait until iXsystems makes a posting stating the file is back online and ready to go.

The “problem” is that my TrueNAS has accepted switching to the new train called “fangtooth upgrade from eel” and it is capable of pulling the update image now. Of course I will wait. I am only reporting what I am seeing.

Really appreciate the timely feedback.

It won’t. Read release notes.

All train switching options are gone now on my ElectricEel.

I’ve update from "fangtooth upgrade from eel” and upgraded fine, everything looks ok to me.

While we wait I had a read through the windows migration guide linked above.
I have 2 W11 VM’s with VirtIO drivers installed.
It is not clear to me, but I think I should screenshot the VM settings, then remove the VM’s before upgrading, then post upgrade recreate them by pointing to the existing ZVOLS and use NVME as the IO bus.

Does that sound about right?

Yeah, but I think you don’t need to remove them. Actually I think it’s better if you leave them in case you want to go back to electric eel.

No joy. Stuck on EE :frowning:

Thanks, I imagine I will need to choose a pool for Instances and go from there.
Will give it a bash once the train update is visible again.

Has anyone had success using the manual update to go from the 25.04 RC to the stable release?

I was successful on my backup server but i did not have any apps or VM’s (instances) on it.

Downloaded FT and performed a manual update and reboot.

Train drop down does not list FT.

Haha. And here I thought I was going crazy. I saw the option this morning, but forced my backups to run first.

When they finished, and was ready to update, the option disappeared.

Appreciate jumping in and updating us on the situation.

Looking forward to when it’s available again.

Thanks

Is it alright to update using the .update file from the official website while waiting for the upgrade train fix?

I manually updated 5/5 systems without issues. Your mileage may vary.

That’s a better batting average than the QNAP FW updates
