Can you access your shares from macOS using NFS rather than SMB?
I may take another look at it once I’m done with my current workload of customer-related features / tickets. I glanced briefly at protocol docs and refreshed my memory on this area of Samba and I might be able to do something for 25.10.

Chiming in here as well, this is kind of a deal breaker for my home setup. I send most of my shares out as NFS and SMB, and I access them both in various ways, as well as backup my Macs.
I’ve had to roll back to 24.10, as I can’t migrate my NFS usage to SMB reliably.
Y’all must be really busy with the first Fangtooth patch release coming up. Really appreciate you trying to take a fresh look at this.

I’ve just been hit by this - that’s what I get for not reading the release notes. Fortunately zfs flags in fangtooth appear to be compatible with 24.10, so I was able to roll back to a snapshot.
Any improvements on this coming in 25.10? It’s unfeasible in my setup not to have multi-protocol shares.

Does that mean that you can continue to use TimeMachine if you have multi protocol shares?
