Hello,
We’re planning to repurpose an old IBM Power8 server as our file server. Since TrueNAS doesn’t support Power8 architecture, would running an x86 virtual machine on the Power8 server to host TrueNAS be a viable solution?
Best regards

Emulating x64 on Power? That doesn’t sound like a recipe for even acceptable, much less good, performance.
Hello, I would like to have a shared home for multiple servers. I want to use TrueNAS to avoid tweaking with custom solution, i.e., setting up NFS, ZFS pool, potentially kerberos to avoid permission issues for multiple users etc.
Kind regards
