Truenas CORE and backblazeB2 - how to restore with all file versions

Hi,
for protecting before ransomware i backup all to cloud backblaze2b.

But is very important have solution, to restore data from cloud to TrueNAS with all versions of file in backblaze2b.

Why? Because, if you have 60TB PDFs, documents and other files, in many folders and many datasets, you CANT restore one by one over WEB UI in backblazeb2.

So i want ask, how to setup TrueNAS, that restore all bucket with all file versions?

Thx all for help.

Ideally with a fellow TrueNAS machine - replicating TB to a remote machine will take ages. You’re better off getting a second machine installed in a remote place that is not too far and replicate to there after an initial local backup.

Sending a ton of content to a backblaze and getting it back is certainly possible but for most home users, the pipe to achieve same is too small to not make it take ages.

Im not sure about backblaze but in TrueNAS SCALE the integration they have with StorJ under the TrueCloud Backup umbrella works brilliantly and addresses the issues you mention. You are able to do a complete restore of your data or just certain directories giving you lots of flexibility. Best bit is I think StorJ is just as cheap if not cheaper than BB.

Hi, today i trayed iXStorj trial on my TN Core 13.3U6.7.

All backuped, also versions of files in cloud are there.

BUT, when i create RESTORE task in TN Core 13.3, there is no option to restore all files with all versions, or restore only some cloud “snapshot” from date.

Is TN Core 13.3 without this future or must use some pre-script/post-script options?

I’ve not tried it on CORE but this functionality works great on SCALE.

It lists all versions depending on how many you choose to keep and you can restore in a very granular fashion if required.
