So I just setup a fresh new TrueNAS instance, that I’m going to use as a NAS.
I searched for a way to securely connect TrueNAS SCALE to Authentik, I see that there is a guide for TrueNAS Command (Management software for multiple TrueNAS Scale instances), however there lacks a guide for TrueNAS SCALE.
In the WebGUI of TrueNAS I can see that I can add a Directory Service via LDAP or AD. I tried to use the LDAPS options which seems to work. TrueNAS can connect to the LDAP outpost, logs in with the sevrice account, but gets the error “insufficient access”.
I have given the service user for TrueNAS the global permission to search the full LDAP Tree.
Does anybody know why this is and what I could do to gix it?
If you want access to the webui that’s only possible for local users, not ad or ldap manages users. As far as I can remember from other posts regarding webui access for AD users, I believe it was said that it’s an enterprise feature and not available in the CE Version.
(Please correct me if m memory is wrong)

Might you know what is meant with “insufficient access”? The service-user has all needed permissions and through the command ldapsearch I can search the LDAP directory and see the other users.
Could you post a screenshot of the acl list of one of the Datasets you try to access? Maybe permissions are not set recursively but without seeing the config it’s hard to tell.

I don’t try to access anything. The error accourse while I try to config the LDAP. It doesn’t even let me set up the LDAP and just troughs me this error when I try to save the config on TrueNAS.
