TrueNAS Scale - UPS not shutting down when on battery

Hi All,
Since switching from Core to Scale, TrueNAS won’t auto shutdown when mains power goes out and on UPS Battery.
The UPS is Cyber Power PR3000ELCDRT2U with a remote management card RMCARD205
Has anyone else experienced the same issue using a Cyber Power UPS running a remote management card?
The config in TrueNAS is straight forward

I should add that i have tried connection with USB and serial cables and still no luck.

I’m fighting this looong time already  seems like truenas team is not interested to fix this at all. I have APC Back UPS 525 and here’s my long listed thread about this problem:

UPS is not powering off on command - TrueNAS General - TrueNAS Community Forums

I believe op’s problem is that his truenas won’t shutdown, not that the ups wont power off…
In the picture @bigbird007 provided the field for shutdown command is empty. Have you tried to provide the shutdown command? Afaik without it truenas doesn’t know it should power off…

Hi LarsR, you are correct truenas won’t shutdown. I have tried to enter in a custom shutdown command and still nothing.

you could try with

midclt call system.shutdown

which is the api call for shutting down the system

Hi LarsR,
I added the command as suggested though it fails to shutdown once UPS is on battery. I do get notifications saying the the UPS is on battery when i disconnect. mains
I then tested the command in terminal to see if it works on its own and it does work.

a pretty old guide used

/sbin/shutdown -h

as shutdown command, other then that i’m out of ideas myself

Hi LarsR,
In the past i did try adding /sbin/shutdown -h without luck.
I did test it again thinking maybe future patches may have fixed something, however no luck.
