trueNas Scale + Wireguard problem with local DNS

Hi Everyone,

Fantastic forum.

I’ve got an interesting predicament I can’t seem to get around.

With trueNAS scale (24.04.1.1) and WG-easy (V13, chart 2.0.19), I can’t seem to define a trueNAS-local DNS and have clients use it. Clients have full access to all LAN resources (SMB shares, LAN hosted web GUIs etc), but can not talk to the Pi-hole DNS which is concurrently hosted on my trueNAS server.

For now I’ll keep my RPI 4b hosted Pi-hole going. But, I’d like to get rid of it if I can.

Any ideas?

Doh. I posted this after mucking around for a good 45min. Solved it 30sec after posting. Had to change Pi-hole’s settings to “Permit all origins” rather than only on my local ethernet adapter. Hopefully a help for someone.
