I looked on google, 2 beeps says it means there is a parity error?
Does it still beep twice when rebooting now? If not, then uhhh - magically mission success?
I just rebooted it and it did not beep twice or any error beeps.
It is working perfectly normally again, I have no idea. But I was able to do the BIOS Recovery. I’m going to boot into truenas, check everything and then update my BIOS to the LATEST .007 and then work from there.
I don’t fully get what just happened.
Here is my event log via my Intel BMC Web Console:
The day I found my system off, I believe was the 13th.
You can see nothing happened between November 1 and November 12.
If any of you care to look through and see any red flags PLEASE let me know. I am not the best at this, I have looked and see multiple “Critical events” and I think those are the BIOS Recovery and Clearing attempts I tried in order to get my system to boot—I did this a bunch on the 17th, a few days before I had to go out of town.
I also notice a few failed sensors. Here are my current sensor readings:
Here are my alerts in Truenas:
It doesn’t even register the “unscheduled system reboot” in November.
The last time it happened was Oct 31, and the same thing happened where it would not POST. I turned it off, unplugged everything, and 5 minutes later everything went back to normal. This last time on November 13th it did NOT go back to normal until now.
Back up all your data NOW and review those Critical alerts. Take care of any issues.
Your last posted image thought it was 2004 on the middle alert
Hi Oxyde,
Quick question: Does the multi-report script works with both Scale and Core? Or is it just Core? I’m going to be getting this set up ASAP.
I noticed that, I have no idea why it says that. Do you think that should be concerning? I am reviewing all the critical alerts, but they are all my bios clearing and recovery attempts I’m pretty sure. They are all regarding “Firmware execution” what is your assessment of that?
I’ll be honest I see nothing terrible in the logs or even the missing voltage values. Though I agree that the long term viability on the motherboard ain’t golden.
This is my sense. I already ordered a replacement motherboard, so maybe that will just sit here until this one is done? I need to replace my UPS for sure I do not trust that thing for nothing.
Currently my server is plug into a power strip. I don’t particularly love this either lol.
Works fine with both
Btw im glad you could restart your server!
Replace your PSU ASAP, then you have all the time you need to think on replace the rest (if you don’t trust them anymore) or keep going more as you can.
Honestly in your place i would have done some stress test, and continued use the system until they give positive result!
Thank you for putting me on that multi report script. Working FLAWLESSLY!!!
