Hello,
The issue:
After losing my OS due to a failed SD card, I had to reinstall TrueNAS from scratch. To my surprise, the APPS/Truechart section has been deprecated. I followed the official recommendations to migrate to VM + Talos, and after some research and self-training, I successfully set up a Kubernetes cluster running my media applications (Emby, Sonarr, Nginx, Prowlarr, Calibre, etc.).
However, I am encountering significant performance issues related to accessing my ZFS parity disk. I am currently using NFS (also tried SMB) to access my disks, but when Emby performs disk scans or when multiple apps are accessing the disks, performance plummets, leading to a poor user experience.
When using the Virtual Machines feature, it seems like the system requires a ZVOL partition to be attached to my VM. Given the amount of data I have, I don’t have enough space to create a large enough ZVOL partition to move my data.
Do you have any suggestions or alternative approaches to help me solve this issue?
