Tvheaend EPG not saved to disk?

Are there other users here, who have problems with the EPG not being stored? As soon as I run an update for Tvheadend or manually restart the app, for any reason, I notice that my EPG is gone. It’s has to scan all channels again to get the EPG loaded.

Is there a fix for it?

I am not familiar with that particular application, but one guess: did you create datasets and assign host paths for all storage of that app?

Yes. The config is saved. All muxes, channels, etc. are stored. No issues there. Streaming works. Also recordings are saved properly. So basically everything is running as expected, except for the fact that the EPG data gets lost after an update or restart.

The second post might be helpful:

Thanks for the tip.

Strange. I have Tvheadend running on OpenMediaVault. It’s my current NAS. When I look at the files on that NAS I see the epgdb.v3 file in the folder. Only on Truenas it’s missing.

They both use the same docker package. Going to have to compare the settings again, even though I set everything the same if I remember well.

Sill haven’t found the problem. Settings are exactly the same as my other installation. However, EPG is not stored on the drive. Really strange.

Finally found the issue:

“Periodically save EPG to disk (hours):”. On my old setup it was set to 0 (disabled) but still it saves the data to the disk. Not sure why.

On Truenas it doesn’t and you actually have to set a value for the amount of hours. I set it to 1 hour and now I see that it’s stored. :relieved: After a restart the EPG is loaded from disk!
