Two ZFS drives failed at once? Hmm

No explicit mention in the docs. I’d still rely in the versioning and keep my fingers crossed :crossed_fingers: :slightly_smiling_face:

If this info helps… Dont be “supriced” by IronWolf drives failing… I have seens multiple IronWolf drives failing one after another specially in rebuild scenarious. Even Seagates Desktop drives seem to last longer than many IronWolf drives…

But the good thing about IronWolf drives is that they seem to give good indications about problems before they start to die totally.

But you need to use smartctl -x to read more information on newer drives.
If you prefer GUI GSmartControl and Hard Disk Sentinel (Since 6.30 reading FARM log supported in PRO version) are good tools.
– They show much more data than draditional smart values.

Also I have seen that many IronWolf drives get some 12-24 bads quicly (typicly all bads show up at once) in the first years, but the bads stops there and they keep running…

Well, lets hope maybe the new firmware will work. Version 14 incoming. Crossing fingers @pmh had hoped:
