UGREEN nas DXP2800 truenas m2 raid1

Hey, I’m about to buy ugreen nas but only to install truenas. I know that original OS is installed on soldered emmc and I don’t want to screw it just in case of a warranty or something. I want to install two m2 drives, make raid1 from them and install Truenas on that logical drive. But I understand that truenas is using software raid, so I’m not sure if it’s possible to create raid and install OS which will manage this raid.
Is that possible at all?

It should be. TrueNAS has supported mirrored boot devices for a very long time. Kind of seems like waste of the only two NVMe slots, though.

But this isn’t just waste of of slots and space right? I hope I’ll be able to use that 1tb volume for OS and my stuff that need speed.

The boot device is only the boot device; it can’t be used for other purposes.

Thanks a lot. I checked this by installing tnas in vmware and cheking, don’t know why didn’t do it earlier.
I canceled my order of two 1tb drives.
