So I’ve seen this as an issue here before, but none of the threads I found were able to come with a solution. I have a Lenovo ThinkStation P520 (dashboard) with 2x Quadro P2000s. Editing “Resources” on any of the apps that can use a GPU only allows 0 GPU allocation for the app, regardless of which one it is. Using nvidia-smi I verified I have the correct drivers. (Apologies, as a newb I can’t post more than 2x links). The only thing I can try as a next step is to remove one of the GPUs and see if that changes anything. Does anyone have a solution to make TrueNAS place nice with GPUs?
Did you isolate them in the System Settings? (I’m assuming you’re using Scale as doing it in Core is a bigger challenge).
So, I might be misinformed here, but I was told that isolating was just for VMs. Is that not the case?
Not sure. You haven’t told us anything. about your config or what you’ve tried.
The menu I think you’re talking about will have multiple entries depending on how many unused GPUs you have (as far as I can tell), so if none have been set aside it would follow that none are available to be allocated to the app, right?
So System Settings->Advanded->Isolated GPU Device(s). As of the the original post for this thread, neither GPU was isolated. I just isolated one of them. More to follow.
edit: No change. Still don’t have a drop down under nvidia GPU other than zero.
Darn, it sounds like it must not be detected then. I have no experience in this so I suppose we’re both shooting in the dark.
By the way, what version are you using? Things are moving around with the next major release (moving to Docker) so it is possible things might be different on the latest beta build.
Edit: Ok, Electric Eel does not have the passthrough options (at least, not through the default UI).
I dlso has this problem. In my understanding to no solution given is that there isn’t any. EE is under two months away, and the whole app stack is moving from k3s to docker, I guess this will fix the problem. My guess who s ix didn’t want to fix this on a stack they are leaviy, and I do understand that.
Yeah I’m not sure. I’m on the beta at the moment and the options for that are missing from the UI, though admittedly I am not sure how to do it in Docker specifically.
