Unable to update: https://update-master.ixsystems.com blocked

Hi.

(Apologies if this has been addressed before; I did a search but I couldn’t find anything).

I’m unable to update TrueNAS Core in the normal manner, because https://update-master.ixsystems.com/ is currently blocked for me by the (UK) National Cyber Security Centre’s PDNS (Protective Domain Name Service).

Please advise.

Sounds like a problem with the PDNS. But you can download the manual update file from:
https://download-core.sys.truenas.net/

and then do the update through the web UI.

Unfortunately, https://download-core.sys.truenas.net/ is also blocked by PDNS :frowning:

That’s good. But it’s NCSC who need to be convinced it’s safe, rather than me :slight_smile:

I’ll contact NCSC and update my post when/if I have further information.

UPDATE: Now resolved

I contacted PDNS support. The block resulted from a false positive associated with link[.]storjshare[.]io. The relevant domains are now unblocked, and TrueNAS can “see” updates again.
