Upon upgrade to EE, Nextcloud just gives "Update Needed" splash screen

Apparently they post docker images to versions that do nothing but display an updated needed splash screen. So when I updated to EE, I got a non-working version and no way to fix it other to wait till they post the docker image. So buyer beware. Fortunately, I don’t use it for anything, so I wasn’t affected.

Here’s the wonderful splash screen you get on startup:

I believe they should change their tagline to “The most unreliable place for storing any of your data.”

See this bug report for details: [NAS-131269] - iXsystems TrueNAS Jira

Personally, Nextcloud and Wordpress rank at around the bottom of my list of well designed software and competent execution.

I think you need to jump into the container itself, and run the command line updater

Yeah. Awesome.

idempotent? darn near killed’empotent

Which is why it’s BETA software of course!

well the ix guys said DO NOT DO THAT in my bug report I referenced in my post. Here you go:

So are they right or are you right? If they are right, is there some sort of forum badge I can earn for the only person ever to find a bug in a Stux post ?

Maybe.

But there are examples on this forum

I’d lean towards the “do nothing and give it a few days” solution.

Ahh. I think I get it. The actual next cloud app is doing a version check and finding a new version which is not yet available in the dockerized app.

They should be disabling that version check if there is a version check in TrueNAS… which there is

Wonder if it can be disabled.

https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/12/admin_manual/configuration_server/config_sample_php_parameters.html#nextcloud-verifications

updateChecker should be configured to false.

Would we get the same errors if we created a “custom app”, and connected it to our existing datasets? I’m currently facing the same issue, it was working fine in Dragonfish. I only have a 4 core system, so I don’t really want to virtualize it. Just asking, I’m a noob.
