I’ve been attempting to troubleshoot an issue with the UPS service not communicating with my UPS Network Management card and have been making some progress. One thing I have noticed though is that when I attempt to test it by pulling the UPS cable from the outlet for 5 to 10 seconds, the UPS service is not honoring the set shutdown timer of 20 seconds that is currently configured and the server is shutting down after plugging the cable back into the wall.

Any ideas why this is happening? And is it normal to have a ups.log file under //var/log/ and also have a ups.log file under /var/log/nut? I would think the system is smart enough not to run two ups services?
