Hi,
On my system the name of a disk (/dev/sdX…) frequently change between boots (when you change/add/remove a disk) :
For the alerts, the name is the one a the time of the alert, not the current name,
For the reports and netdata, the historical informations is for another drive in the same graphic.
So for me all the data for a /dev/sdX before the last boot is at best useless (because I have no idea of the physical drive they come from), at worst misleading (because for example /dev/sdc max read speed brutally change, making me think that there’s a problem with the disk while in fact it’s from 2 different physical disk)
Anybody think that either:
A) the information about any /dev/deX should be reset at each boot
B) the identifier should be something that can really identify the disk, even between reboot (including the serial number for example)
As I am using only Scale on one type of server (DL380 Gen9) with a not recommended disk HBA (HPE H240ar in HBA mode) I just want to know if it works the same way for other people.
Thank you.
