Virtual Machine accessing TrueNAS Share

Hi,

I think I’m going mad, I can’t find a way to do this and I am sure it is just me!!

I have a Ubuntu Virtual Machine running on TrueNAS Scale 22.10 (Electric Eel) and I have my DataSets and Shares set up, SMB and NFS.

I can access my SMB shares from my Physical Windows machine, but when trying to access any share from the Ubuntu Virtual Machine, I can’t see anything available to mount.

Am I going bonkers? Is this possible?

Sounds like you need to setup a Bridge

to get more use out of this nas build im setting up vm [image] [image] [image] If you want to do the same, raidowl’s guide helped. though he was setting up for windows, i was doing it for fedora linux [TrueNAS Scale - Your New Hypervisor/NAS OS - Setup & Walkthrough] there are a couple of things you can do with this. like the gpu pass through. connect the cable to monitor. but im not doing that, im instead using the virtual for monitor. im only using this as a test bed to exper…

i mentioned how i added the truenas samba share to fedora.

for networking i used the bridge which i setup for my docker containers. so probably do what stux suggested
