wg-easy and omada-controller were the two apps I had installed, both failed to update on 24.10.2.1.
After upgrading to 24.10.2.2, omada app upgraded successfully, wg-easy still failed with same errors.
I deleted wg-easy and reinstalled, it now fails to deploy, but I think it’s a wg-easy issue (new version seems to fail to start with ipv6 disabled). I’ve posted about it on wg-easy github.
I have heard many people ask why there wasn’t an alert or a pop-up displayed before the user doing certain things (like before updating to fangtooth with the VM situation or before the June 1st app deadline). And now seeing this it makes me wonder.
Can you or someone else from IX clarify if serving alerts before updating or before deadlines like the apps one is even possible with the current system? Is the functionality for this even built into Truenas?
This makes it seem like it isn’t, but I just want it to be clear for everyone so they know whether asking for an alert is reasonable or not.
Forums and TrueCommand are the only places where alerts are currently feasible on previously released software. In many cases, TrueNAS can be run “air-gapped”…
Glad it worked out for you and I assume the pain was sarcastic?
The impacted users are the ones still running Dragonfish with standard Apps. You had updated to Electric Eel and saw no issues.
TrueCharts apps in Dragonfish (24.04) are owned by TrueCharts and did not make the transition to Electric Eel (24.10) and Docker. They would have to be manually recreated, but data can be preserved.
Oh i meant to say painless, lost in translation. And yes, the truecharts was pain to relocate to docker, but i did it. And im not super commander. Im just a union worker, plain old joe shmoe.
Just leaving this for someone in my boots to find.
I need to somehow follow truenas news, to not become a victim of doing nothing then find out people ascended without me.
