WebUI Performance Drop After Upgrading to ElectricEel 24.10

I was excited to upgrade to 24.10 and migrate some docker apps like everyone else but after upgrading I realized that the webUI is either very slow or unresponsive. One such thing I noticed is that menus may not show up when loading the page (see image) or it may get hung up. Also, another thing is that the UI would freeze when configuring the dashboard.

For some reason I am unable to attached an image.

Updated:

  • I found that if I did a fresh install of the latest version of ElectricEel, the UI works perfectly, however once I uploaded my backup, it went back to being slow to respond. I did not make any changes to TrueNAS beside upgrading.
  • I also deployed my second redundant box and it work without any issue with the same boot media.

My question now, is if I were to do a fresh install, would importing the pool allow me to get back my vms and apps ?
I figure I would have to reconfigure the shares but thats easier that looking app configs.

I have the same issues limited to the widget dashboard since moving to Electric El.
I tested all widgets, but doesn’t matter which, or displaying nothing, the dashboard for widgets is even it is empty painfully slow and laggs the whole system.
Even the mouse laggs for ~ 2-3 seconds when the widget dashboard is in view.
Choosing other sites in the UI is normal.
I was waiting for fixing this issue, but no Electric El update has adressed it.
In between i was switching back to the major release before Electric El. Justt because of this annoying feature.
Back in the days when Electric El was released, i opened a ticket but it was closed quickly without any interest.
I don’t know what to do.
I’m already thinking about ditching the TrueNAS route because this is pain in the ass and feeling left alone.

I forgot to update on this. I chose to do a fresh install and set up from scratch without importing my backup config. I think it got corrupted while upgrading.

It was a pain to setup again but I was able to my import pools. I considered my data more important than the config. Been great ever since and was able to import my vms and reconfigure my containers like nothing happened.

I recommend making sure your pools are good before trying this. Good luck and I hope it works.

This is no option for me.
A new install because the Electric El widget dashboard is borked from the very beginning since moving from Dragonfish? Makes IMHO no sense.
I just have to go back to the last Dragonfish on the boot drive and all is fine.
The latest Electric El update from yesterday also did nothing to fix this issue since a very long time already.
Just read about the new fancy widget dashboard that was rolled out with Electric El in their feature list. Yeah a pile of shitload that slows the complete system
