Where did the 'iocage' dataset come from when I created my pool?

I created a couple of new pools (HHDs & SSDs).
After a little time (or after doing something else in TrueNAS) under each pool there was a new dataset called ‘iocage’, which I did not create. It was automatic, but I have no idea what caused them to be created. They each have the following child folders:

  • download
  • images
  • jails
  • log
  • releases
  • templates

Could it be have been triggered by installing certain plugins, even if they were temporary?

When you select a pool for Jails or Plugins on Core it creates it.

If you are not running/using any plugins or jails, it should be safe to delete the dataset if you want.
