Why Have Replicated Dataset Read Only

Hi, Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere I couldn’t seems to find explicit information on this. I am running TrueNAS core to store some datasets. I have set up a daily snapshot and want to replicate it to Proxmox backup server. I already have the SSH connection configured and noticed when setting the destination for the replication task that it would be set to Read only by default.

Forgive me if I misunderstand some foundational knowledge. Is this to prevent modification of the data? Are permission preserved if the data needs to be restored? Any information on understanding this would be very helpful.

Literally the same discussion over the past few days: Replication dataset user rights cannot be modified (my own fault, usability thing)
