Wondering if there is an option or a way too

Greetings deep thinkers. I have a third TrueNAS Scale with single drive pools with big drives. Once every 6 months I copy the contents of my primary NAS to one of the large drive pools on this box. I then turn it off. It’s stored in a fire-resistant room away from the main house for safekeeping.

My wonder is - is there a way to turn a drive off during the time this box is doing it’s bi-annual backup? With 6 large drives spinning for a week, I’d like to ensure the older backups remain untouched.
Thanks for your time. - back to your regularly scheduled think-tank.

Have you considered using PULL replication from your third TrueNAS? This way you could power it on every 6 months allow the most recent snapshots to be pulled and then power down for another 6 months. You’d just need to ensure the retention of said snapshots is long enough perhaps a schedule of ‘month for a year’.
