I have been trying to get ZeroTier app to work but it stays stuck in the deployment state. Left over night and still stuck. Also for some reason ZeroTier is showing 250 members even though I have not tried to connect any other systems other than my TrueNas system.
System is running Dragonfish-24.04.2.

Any links to videos on how to fix this would be great. Prefer videos as I have some visual impairments.
Thanks,
There’s documentation at How-To | TrueCharts Charts | Zerotier
Zerotier will appear stuck in the ‘deploying’ state until you authorize it in your https://my.zerotier.com/ panel.
Rough steps:
-
On TrueNAS SCALE admin panel: When installing zerotier within Zerotier Configuration, add a ‘Network’ within the ‘Networks’ section. You’ll copy what you have setup under https://my.zerotier.com/ .
-
After starting zerotier, check https://my.zerotier.com/ and see if the device appears. Authorize it.
-
On TrueNAS SCALE admin panel apps list: zerotier should now appear as ‘Running’
Hey, just wanted to give an update for anyone still looking now:
On the latest version of Truenas (ElectricEel 24.10) which now just uses plain Docker containers instead of Kubernetes, I submitted an issue to update the container to use storage by default.
This should fix the issues with identity.secret
and identity.public
and being stuck in deploying
in the past, and you can just install the container with the network ID, authorize it, and be on your way.
