ZFS boot environment - Migration from Core to Scale

Greetings.

I want to migrate from Core to Scale. I read the preparation guide and I am in good shape and ready to go. However, the “What can or cannot migrate” lists “ZFS boot environments”. I have searched for related info but have been unsuccessful finding any details. As I have a mirrored ZFS boot pool I want to understand the details of this limitation. I suspect that the migration from BSD to Linux will wipe the boot device such that all info will be lost. Is this the limitation or is it something else/more?

That’s it. You get a different bootloader and lose the ability to revert to the previous CORE environments.
Install on a different device and then upload the CORE configuration file. Or break your boot mirror and install SCALE on one drive only so you can still use the other to boot CORE.

That’s what I thought. Thank you!
