ZFS One or more devices has experienced an error

I’m experiencing issues with my ZFS pool, and I’ve been fighting it for months.

What I did:

  • Change the SATA cables with a new one
  • Change the Drives places
  • PCI checks
  • Scrubs
  • Export > Import > Scrub the pool
  • NO ECC memory. This is a home setup aiming for low-power usage motherboard and CPU.
  • CPU N6005
  • Storage controller: Intel Corporation Jasper Lake PCIe ( onboard )

SMART tests for all 3 drives are here

The only thing that I didn’t do is to use the Seagate Exos property drive check.

I’d suggest you make it a bit easier to attract the right attention:

  1. What is the history of the pool and I assume it was working OK? What TrueNAS version were you using? has this changed?

  2. Describe the problems you were having… not just solutions you have tried.

  3. Have the problems got worse?

  4. See if you can summarize what is concerning about the Seagate test.Most people don’t read these for weekend fun
