Currently you need to use the upload option to create an Incus-managed iso. I believe there is some progress toward making it possible to use an iso that already exists on the NAS, but that is not currently possible.
How large is the iso? I vaguely remember there being a bug with an upload limit.
ah okay.
my iso is: windows server 2025 5.9GB
can i do sth about the bug?
I see one bug report with a similar error message, but it was closed without changes due to a lack of update (Jira).
A comment suggests that the issue there may have been fixed in 25.04.1. Are you on that version? If so, it might be a good idea to submit a new issue: Issue Reporting in Jira | TrueNAS Documentation Hub
Thank you for your prompt support.
However, I’m not willing to create an account on an external website just to submit a bug report.
For now, I’ll revert to version 24.x and hold off on further updates. Based on what I’ve read and experienced myself, version 25.x – even if vm part is labeled as “experimental” ,is in my opinion, not ready for release. I fully understand that bugs can happen, but the absence of essential features such as moving or deleting VMs, assigning ISOs, and the invisibility of the ix folder make normal usage nearly impossible.
From my perspective, version 25.04.1 should not have been released at all and should have remained in beta. I’ll wait for a more stable version, like 25.10 or later, before considering another upgrade.
Again, thank you for your quick support.
Best regards
Similar thing I already complained in Fangtooth - Instances - Load local ISO file from NAS
Really a dealbreaker.
