Hello,
I have a question regarding the TrueNAS 25.10 beta.
Back when upgrading from 24.x to 25.x, several essential VM features were missing – such as attaching ISOs or moving/deleting VMs – which made normal usage very difficult.
Unfortunately, I can’t see from the 25.10 beta changelog whether these VM functions have now been restored. Could you please confirm if features like ISO assignment, VM moving/deletion, and the visibility of the ix folder are included again in this release?
Since it is always advised to “read the changelog before upgrading,” I would strongly suggest that such critical functional changes should also be mentioned there, so users can make an informed decision.
Thank you in advance for clarifying.
Best regards
VM delete now works in the Beta. However I can’t seem to be able to save while trying to edit a created VM - just sits there till you select cancel. I also can’t get a Windows 11 install ISO to boot (legacy or uefi). However Mint 21 installed and is running great.
The entire VM interface is very similar to Core 13’s. Storage for the VMs run on images stored in the pool and are completely accessible. ISOs are attached to CDROM devices. Devices can be passed to the VM. Just no built in VNC viewer
I wouldn’t run 25.10 Beta in anything approaching a production environment. However even with its problems this is the first version of Scale I’ve even considered running over Core 13.
What is this ix folder your asking about? Must be something the previous Scale VMs used.
