Well, it is difficult to know how to help when the server details are not known, especially your TrueNAS version.
Have you looked for similar threads, eg this admittedly older one, which describes where to put the parameters and make them survive a reboot:
… and at least let us know at what stage you are getting stuck?
Thank you for your concern. I think I’ve mostly found the solution
My Xubuntu and the TrueNAS are already on the same Zerotier network
I’m trying to go into my dataset /medias wich is already shared on SMB
smb://IP_adress_TrueNAs/medias let user1 get in
Now the strange think is that I don’t see my Calibre folders. I’ll probably found where is the problem
OK that’s encouraging. If you find a whole or even part-solution please post back here so others can benefit from your experience.
ZeroTier is easy to install and seems a good solution for me as long as a few devices (that I know) need to connect the Nas.
The difficult step (for me) was to find how to access at the SMB dataset (specially if you are on 2FA). Finally I’ve created a user, with only the rights on this SMB dataset and no need to connect on 2FA
I had to stop Calibre and start it again before I could see the folders, and the same, later to see the books
All that is not very clear for me. It’s my first TrueNAS install and immediately on 25.10 with not very much documentation
