Okay, this is making more sense now thank you. I think what I’ll do is setup the 2 NVME drives as mirror for App Pool and use one of the SSD’s for the Boot pool and save the config like you mentioned. So under Pools there will be the Pool for Media (RaidZ2) and pool for App data (mirrored vdevs) instead of creating a dataset for app data under the Media pool.

Having issues with my m.2 expansion card, bought another, wouldn’t see either sticks. Not sure if it is a bios bifurcation issue, stick issue, etc.. So in the meantime because i’m inpatient i created a pool with data sets for media and apps with sub data sets for app data etc. with the intent on migrating the apps/app data over to a mirrored vdev of SSD’s when I get them sorted. everything else is coming along so far!
