App Duplicati fails to install from apps catalog

I’m having difficulty to install the duplicati app from the catalog. I followed the guide I found online, filled in the settings, created the needed datasets, but after the install, the app cannot starts:

  • The jobs log states is was created success full
  • but it toggles between “deploying” and “stopped” all the time.

When I check the dataset in which the app should be for the config files via SFTP, the folder seems to be empty. Could it be that the pull request fails? Does anyone have experience with this type of issues and know a of a potential resolution?

I’ve installed 12 other apps without issue…

I stand corrected :confused: I just tried to install the Tautulli app from the catalog and I have the same issue as with Duplicati. So I must be doing something wrong, but what???

PS: I do run HexOS over Truenas, but as both these apps are not “curated” I need to install them via the TrueNAS ui anyway, so I believe this should not affect my issue.

If you can install other apps and not these 2 it’s likely permissions related, either the apps need root or some other user (sometimes 1000, sometimes 999, etc), check the https://apps.truenas.com website for more info on permissions

Basically if you can install the App with ixVolumes / defaults then it’s your permissions or user preventing install

Thanks for the tip, it was indeed a permissions issue. I had yet to set the ACL for the dataset I created and give access to the user: “apps”
