Otherwise, TrueNAS employee may be on vacation for app updates.

Are app updates on hold pending release of 25.04.2?

Or it’s just that its summer, sometimes us poor humans do take vacations… You might have to wait a couple of days. If some community members want to step up and help be part of the solution, they are welcome to DM me. I’m sure we’d love a few extra folks willing to spend hours on testing and approving app merges so everybody gets their “fix” right away

App Updates for Electic Eel and Fangtooth are the same.

Is there a specific problem???

Hmmm ok, there has always been a delay but for example Jellyfin has been updated 3 times and in the past 2 weeks, none have reached TrueNAS yet

Pull request has been opened here, anybody who wants things sooner is welcome to give that a test run, report their feedback and then we can merge. But that requires some effort, which is usually more than folks are willing to do.

Otherwise, I expect things to get merging as usual again in the next couple days. Sit tight.

Well most of the catalog is maintained by volunteers. There’s what, a dozen ones done by iX?

Oh my mistake! i guess a wasn’t paying attention, i had thought after Truecharts were shown the door, they were all in-house.

Most of the apps are from the “community,” but iX still holds the keys to the repo.

90%+ of applications in the catalog have been from iX developers. We’ve put the call out multiple times for community volunteers to step up and contribute. Since then we’ve seen an increase in folks contributing PR’s for new apps now, which is great. But if folks want to step into more of a maintainer role to help merge things while iX folks are on VC, that would be also very much appreciated. Interested folks should DM me if that’s something they’d like to get involved in.

Correct, they both are employees. Again, the apps repo is 100% in the open. I’d LOVE to see some community involvement in helping to not only contribute, but help test, bugfix and maintain apps. But alas, I’ve put out the call several times and no takers. Much much easier for people to constantly complain on the forums, but actually contribute anything that amounts to useful work? Very rare. But my DM’s are still open if anybody later reading this sees it and wants to help out! It’s not rocket science, just takes a bit of time and willingness to dig in.
