Assistance needed for Pi-hole App installation

I’m new to TrueNas, and would like to install Pi-Hole as my first App. I’m following instructions online, but things are not working as planned. Getting the below error. I assume I have made a mistake by having my “pool” shared with SMB. I’ve already started to move all of my old NAS data into new “Share” and don’t want to screw that up. Everything is working fine with document sharing within my network, via Windows. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks

Suggest you delete the app and begin anew installing the truenas pihole app using default ix-systems storage not a hostpath dataset.

The second error message says it all. You’re sharing the root dataset, and you really should not do it.
Stop the SMB service. Create a child dataset; if you already have data in the share, move it from the root dataset to the new kid. The root dataset should only contain child datasets, no files.
Then you can share the child with SMB and have other datasets next to it, including ix-apps.

@etronix
I’ll give it a shot and remove the SMB role from the root dataset “pool.”
All of my data in my child folders are still available on my Old Drobo. So if I lose anything or make a mistake I can start from scratch. Here is a screenshot of my current Datasets Screen…
