I checked the forum and cant find a solution:
I have downloaded automatic ripping machine app in truenas community edition. I cannot find anyway to add an external dvd player to my truenas machine which somewhat defeats the object of offering the app unless I am missing something, which is always possible. Anyone know how to make an external dvd available to the new ARM app?
Assuming you’re using the ARM in the apps catalogue, did you add the cdrom device when you set it up? It’s under “Automatic Ripping Machine Configuration”.
You haven’t said how the external device is connected, so I am guessing it’s a usb device? Either way you need to figure out how it’s referenced under /dev.
Yes it is a usb but when connected it doesnt show up in lsblk
For it to show in lsblk you need to have disk in it. Not a blank disk mind you.
