I want to mount a Synology NFS folder on my Truenas server. The low-power TrueNAS is always on and the more power consuming Synology switches on and off automatically during the day. Can the mount also be done automatically, so when the Synology switches on, the TrueNAS will (instantly) see the NFS folder and mount it to a specified mounting point, so I don’t have to do it manually?
Some say fstab, some systemd, some say cronjob, and I’m not very experienced in either of those, but willing to learn ![]()
Thanx in advance!
Mounting external storage to truenas is not supported… i don’t even know if it’s possible to mount nfs shares to truenas.

It is built-in in Linux, so unless IX disabled it in the Kernel, it should work, and it does.

Ok i agree i should have been more precise. There’s no officially supported gui way to mount storage to truenas, only manually via cli.

Thanks! GUI would have been optimal, but I’m also pretty sure it has to be done with some form of script or other CLI stuff, just not sure how to go about it … ![]()
