Best way to datastore for proxmox backup server VM

Pool geometry can be a huge factor for RAIDZ. The smaller the files (VMs with 16k volblockstorage) the worse the problem is.

So the question would be, what are you planning on storing in that?
For PBS I did not look at small files, only what most files sizes are. They are mostly 4mb. So I guess RAIDZ is probably fine for that?

Modern IT is complex enough IMHO. I like the KISS approach. At least for stuff that is important and not a homelab.
