I’ve been using my user account “ABCD” for years, and had placed it inside the “docker” group when I was experimenting with it in previous versions of TrueNAS Scale. I had long uninstalled docker, however after upgrading TrueNAS to 25.10.x, I can no long make any changes to my user account – e.g. adding / removing SSH public keys, disabling SSH password logins, etc.
I only became aware of the new built-in account restrictions that came with 25.10.x AFTER coming across this issue. Not interested in the debate behind the decision to enforce this restrictions, all I’m interested to know is – what can I do now to be able to make changes to my user account?
I do NOT want to set up a new user account – I have too many things set up with the current account “ABCD” to risk it.
