I’m on Truenas Electric Eel and I installed a Portainer container on it. I was wondering if it was a good idea to create a container via Portainer or should I only create them using Truenas Custom app?
It’s really a matter of choice.
If you prefer portainer, go for it. But the apps won’t show up in the TrueNAS gui… but you have portainer.
Alternatively, if you use the TrueNAS gui, then they will, and you can also use the TrueNAS gui for updating them.
Portainer is the better docker manager… but do you prefer managing from TrueNAS or portainer?

Thanks. I guess I’ll stick to Truenas because I like to have directly the view when I connect to my Truenas
Yep, nice/needed for jailmaker, not necessary for EE. Unless you want another service to maintain!
